I had been mixing Royal Canin Urinary SO and Hills CD Stress

Neither myself nor my cat are happy about Hill's Prescription Diet C/D for cats with urinary problems. Here is what I have found: Winston gets the dry c/d, canned pate, and occasionally the "stew." First off, they are lying: the stew has "chicken" listed on the front of the can, yet when I read the ingredients, the first one is pork! What? Winston does not like this food; in fact, I end up throwing most of it out. When he does manage to choke this ** down, he pukes it up all over the rug. Oh, I'm sure they will say it is some problem with the cat. No, wrong! The price of a 5.5 oz. can of the pate is almost $2.00. This is outrageous! It is all made from guts and other animal parts that no human being would want to eat. I am going to start making my own cat food. I have done a lot of research. Anything would be better, cheaper, and healthier for animals than this stuff.

A friend of mine also has 3 FLUTD cats. She feels as strongly as I do about quality food (and Hill’s being of poor quality). She mentioned that she does not feed C/D or the Royal Canin counterpart to her cats. Since she had not had her cats off of the prescription diet very long, I decided to keep my boys on it until she knew more.

I have been feeding my cats Hills prescription diet C/D since early summer 2010 as I have one cat with urinary problems. All has been ok and they like the dry as well as the wet food seafood flavor. However, the last bag I bought on 11/29/2010 is, I believe, poisoning my cats. My older cat began having intense "skirting" diarrhea and vomiting. I just thought she ate one too many pieces of chicken. She loves table scraps and has been eating them for years with no problems. I called the vet. The advice was go without food for 24 hours; if she is not better, bring her in. WhatÍs so valuable about Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Feline with Chicken Urinary Care Cat Food?
