Space saving design, nostril saving technology! Litter boxes are best when tucked out of sight, and Nature's Miracle JFC Advanced Hooded Corner Cat Litter Box gives pet parents the option to stick it in any corner in the room. The covered litter box includes a replaceable charcoal filter and odor-block technology that help eliminate odors for up to three months.
You can even use a readymade charcoal filter
Make your own activated charcoal filter by sewing a small pouch out of cheesecloth and filling it with charcoal, or placing the charcoal in the center and tying the cloth into a packet. Put the pouch on or near the litter box. If dust particles from the charcoal are leaking through the cheesecloth, put it in a small container and place it near the cat's box.
Cheap and Simple Litter Box Odor Filter - Instructables
We used to have one with a top closure and a charcoal filter. The cats hated that closure; it trapped in all their elimination odours (think about how you feel in a ‘full’ port-o-potty). The charcoal filter sitting atop of the box didn’t do much by way or eliminating odours despite the very convincing marketing. We ditched the lid and the cats much prefer the open space. It airs out better. We now use a , and the cats absolutely adore the texture of it (they scratch it for fun). I like this plan better, and would not have gone for it if the litterboxes were not biodegradable.
Nature's Miracle Odor Control Litter Box Universal Charcoal Filter
And although many covered boxes come with a replaceable charcoal filter on the hood to help reduce odor, covered cat litter boxes do tend to hold more odor if not cleaned regularly. Many kitties find the odor too unappealing to enter the box. However, if you clean your cat's litter box often, you should be able to avoid an odor problem.Just as a carbon filter is great at reducing odors in air filtration systems, charcoal filters can be great when used in the litter box itself. Charcoal filters – as another form of carbon – are fantastic at absorbing odors and bacteria inside a litter box. Lining these filters around a litter box door or any vent holes can allow the charcoal to absorb stench from the air escaping, providing more fresh-smelling air in your home. Test out a bit in your cat’s litter box and see for yourself the improvement!
