Petmaker Cozy Kitty Tent Igloo Plush Cat Bed - Brown already viewed

are fully enclosed cat beds with a single entrance. Common models include triangular or pyramid igloos or rounded igloos. Soft, plush igloo models are the most common, but you can also find wooden and wicker models. Enclosed cat beds are a great choice in winter, particularly the plush models, as they help to keep your cat warm, by trapping heat. Additionally, igloo beds provide a more natural sleeping environment, giving the bed a den-like feel. Cats like to retreat to a safe place when they feel threatened or anxious, and, because an igloo bed is enclosed all around, apart from the entrance, it helps your cat to feel safe.

"Who would have thought -- a cat building an igloo!!!" Stevens told ABC affiliate KMGH.

While it might be a bit more work, my first reaction would be to go with the igloo/shelter and insulate it for the cats - especially since you are thinking about this WAY before winter gets here. This gives you some time to get everything together, get the cats more accustomed to you being around them, etc.

My cat? Sure :)Yes the cardboard Igloo is cute too :)Thanks for your comment. My other shelter is an "igloo" type of shelter. O.K., it's really called a "dogloo," but I'm a cat person...what can I say? Anyway, the igloo is not very large, it's insulated (warmer in winter & cooler in summer) and has a small opening. I've placed a sleeping bag inside. That way, the cats have a warm, soft something to snuggle into, plus the sleeping bag itself is insulated for winter weather.
